High precip intensity and wind along the highest elevations led to active conditions in the morning.

I found not-so-weak diurnal facets beneath the dust layer a foot down or so. This is the snow surface layer I noted on Sunday in the Guardsman/Scotts area HERE. This layering was not reactive at 9400' but may be possibly reactive in the colder higher elevations. This should be easy to gauge with tests tomorrow....and might be a player with enough snow and wind with the late Wed into Thursday storm.

Snowpack

Early reports were of inverted upside down snow in the morning with graupel/stellars arriving on top of early storm stellars. This had mostly settled out from what I could tell by the afternoon. Some sun breaks and areas of possible greenhousing led to dampening of some snow surfaces that will be crusted Wednesday morning.
