Quick report

Wet snow, open creeks, and rain runnels represented the theme of the day. The rain-soaked snow remains deep, wet, and soft. We saw debris from some recent wet loose sluffs and cornice collapses, but we did not trigger any additional roller balls, pinwheels, or wet loose sluffs. We also did not see any signs of recent slab avalanche activity. Wet, mushy snow covered all aspects and at all elevations by mid-morning, and most places showed few if any signs of an overnight refreeze. The deep, mushy snow and uneven rain-runneled surfaces made travel on skis and snowmobiles challenging today. Open creeks made travel even more complicated and left our feet wet when we had to wade across one.

We noticed some recent cornice collapses and small wet loose sluffs. It was difficult to tell whether these occurred today or yesterday.
