Alpental

Not much going on at the Pass. A little bit of wind loading in some strange spots, but any avalanches would be few and far between and really small. This places still needs a lot of snow. 

Minimal cracking was limited to very small wind loaded pockets. Cracks did not travel far.

Coverage is still pretty rough at the Pass. Lower elevations, the snowpack is 6-24" (15-60cm) Lots of open creeks, logs, bushes, etc. A thin crust on most slopes below 4000ft. Mid elevations a weak breakable crust on most S slopes. Shaded aspects are a mix of settled powder, wind-textured snow, and firm scoured slopes. 12/7 was 6-8" (15-20cm) below the surface. No results in snowprofile. 

Wind loading on to some ob places. Pillows generally on N-NW aspects where firm and generally unreactive. Occasionally we produced a short crack. 

Old rollerballs and very small wet loose slides from mid-week.
