Quick report
Since my tour on 2/4, I've observed more avalanches of varying sizes, likely triggered during the wind-loading event on 2/5 at the storm's tail end. The slab has since stiffened, and I didn’t experience any collapses today on my tour to the yurt and up Peanut.
Snowpack
Ski penetration was 3–5 cm, making trail-breaking very easy. About 10 cm of recent light snow sat atop a supportable slab, but without skis, boot penetration extended past my hip. I couldn’t get any of my extended column tests to propagate on the 1/31 layer, which was down 75 cm. A mid-storm layer produced ECTN 24 at 35 cm. Small column tests yielded CT3 down 10 cm, CT RP down 35 cm, and CT25 SC down 75 cm. An interesting dirt or yellow layer appeared around 30 cm, likely from the warm period during the storm.
