Quick report
With good visibility today, we rode mostly near and above treeline terrain between 8500 and 9500ft. At these elevations, snow surfaces remained dry. In the morning, light winds were coming from the north, which helped keep temperatures cool and the snow dry. We saw several small dry loose avalanches, and triggered similar on test slopes. Yesterday's wind loaded areas displayed no signs of instability today. In the early afternoon, winds shifted to come from the west, but we only saw occasional plumes of blowing snow with minimal deposition.
Not avalanche related: The road from the end of the plowing was still covered by snow except for a few short (10ft) patches of pavement, but in several places the snow was thin and unlikely to last through the warm week ahead.
