Quick report

I toured around Chaffin Creek today. The first surprise was how far down the snow goes. It's not skiable from the trailhead, but it is mostly snow covered from the trailhead. I saw several faces that had many loose wet slides, probably from a few days ago, but nothing larger than d1, and there were fewer wet slides than I was expecting to see based on the recent weather and last weekends forecast. The upper elevation non-solar slopes had a very firm crust, with a big layer of low density facets underneath. On my way out the south facing slopes were fully isothermic. I saw boot penetration of around 1 meter multiple places.
