Poor Snowpack Structure
Elevation
2591 m
Slope Angle

Snowpit shows poor structure with slightly rounded 2-3mm faceted grains near the ground and 3' of strong snow over the top. These grains are starting to show signs of rounding and with a deeper snowpack will start to get better with time. These facets are still weak as demonstrated by the propagation saw test and with the additional storm forecast for this week they are not trustworthy yet.

Snowpack

Wet snow to 7800' and dried out a bit above that level. Snowing lightly throughout the day. Snow surface was damp powder. Roller balls at lower elevations on all aspects.
