Quick report

You can trigger an avalanche below treeline on northerly-facing steep slopes. The easiest place to trigger a slab around one to two feet deep are open wind-drifted slopes or unsupported slopes above cliffs or rocky pillows. You can find the faceted weak layer about 8" above the obvious dust stripe.

Weather

Warm, obscured, snowy.

Snowpack

The upper snowpack is spongy and dense below treeline. On northeast and northwest-facing terrain the March 23rd interface was still moist up to around 10,500', and dry above that. Due north-facing slopes hide a slick facet layer at that same interface. At you approach 11,000' the facet layer becomes easy to find on more slopes (NW-N-NE).
