Quick report
Decided to sled rather than ski today and think that was a wise choice. 20-25cm of higher density surface snow due to increasing temps and afternoon wind yesterday. Low density immediately below surface slab creating very "upside down" feel. Snow blown off the trees on WNW aspect of Red Meadow mtn, with tree bombs abound and wind affect from 5400'to high point of 6700'. Snow still on trees of east facing Whitefish mtn. Early December surface hoar ~60cm down at 6k on NW aspect. No cracking or results on small steep test slopes with the sled. Given the density inversion can't imagine skiing (up or down) would be that enjoyable at the moment where we were today. Certainly wouldn't be sticking my neck out onto anything big and convex.

Observed multiple slides that likely ran yesterday afternoon along WSW aspect in the typical avy paths on the road before Red Meadow (start zones 5600'-5800')and SSE aspect of Link mtn (start zones approx 6200'-6400'). All appear to be storm slab at the density change, approx 6-10" deep.
