We skied a SE-facing chute above Marion Lake directly down to the lake. Some small, fresh cornices were forming on SE aspects, with very small pockets of wind loaded snow below ridgelines. The skiing was great from 7k-6k, if you could handle 100 feet of bush at the bottom. Yes, there are probably better places to ski right now, but the skiing was pretty dang good up high, especially for November. Triggered a small isolated 1-4” wind slab on a SE aspect. In certain terrain features, this could be a problem if it entrained more unconsolidated snow.

Despite small, recently developed cornices and moderate NW winds at the ridgeline, oddly we didn’t see a ton of active transport occurring up high. As we left in the early afternoon, the winds began to pick up.
