Quick report

Keeping tabs on the thaw:

  • Cloud cover lingered longer than anticipated and slowed the wet loose cycle
  • Steep solar slopes produced rollerballs and small (D1) wet loose activity
  • Surface snow at 5000' rapidly transitioned to moist with just a couple of minutes of sunshine
  • By 2pm the top 2-4 inches transitioned to moist in the shade
  • Could easily initiate rollerballs by throwing a snowball at steep slopes
