We cruised over to check out the avalanche in the White Pine Lake area. It occurred under the cliffs on the North slope of Magog. The slide was 200 feet wide and only ran 70ish feet. Since it was right under the cliffs we assumed that it failed on a grauple layer that occurred in the early part of Tuesday’s storm. The slab was 1-2 feet deep on a steep North facing slope. From the looks of the snowmobile tracks, it looked like someone got lucky that they didn’t get pushed into the trees along the toe of the avalanche
