Bardini Canyon, Table Mountian - Shallow, punchy, and wet

I went for a walk in Bardini Canyon today to get an idea of how our series of very warm days have impacted the area. Overall, it was a short and relatively uneventful day. 

• By mid-morning, the ski pen was pretty deep. 10-35 cm. I had hoped this would improve as I gained elevation, but it largely did not, except for areas with true north aspects in the shade (of trees or terrain).  In these areas, I found it to be more supportable overall but still inconsistent.
  • I ended up calling it and turning around a little under 9,500' 
  • Below 8600 or so, I found the ski pen was more or less full depth of the thin snowpack unless I stuck to old skin tracks.
  • I chose to walk down a dry ridge from ~9k to preserve my knees
• Coverage is melting fast down south, with significantly more dry ground and areas of very thin coverage than I observed about a week ago. 
• HS was measured as deep as ~1 meter and was largely isothermal mush, particularly below 9000'.
• I observed isolated collapsing in some areas with old wind-compressed surface snow above less consolidated snow or bushes below. Nothing more substantial than 5-7' circles around my feet.
• I kicked off some small fans of roller balls but largely avoided steep terrain today.

I observed a few small Wet Loose avalanches that likely occurred in the last 72 hrs, but I did not observe any today. I also observed several fans of rollerballs. Ski pen was 10-30 cm below 9500' mid-morning.
