Quick report
I observed remnants of a major avalanche in the SE chute of Dunderburg this afternoon. I estimate ITwould be D3 .5 R3. I observed large crowning approximately 500ft below the top of the chute.... The area above that has been wind swept and likely could have erased any signs of failure higher then what I saw. Debris field ran all the way down to Cherub lake. I skied across the lower fan of the debris... Its approaching 1/4 mile in width. Hard to say exactly when it slid; the Storm finished with 16inchs of new snow early morning March 1st. Some of the debris has been covered by snow but I'm having trouble believing it has over 12inches on top of it. The slide looks to me to have behaved more wet than dry, however, I observed multiple trees/saplings with damaged limbs we'll above the debris field leading me to believe there was air pressure accompanying the slide.
