Quick report

We observed surface hoar growing up to our high point of 8,200'. We didn't experience any cracking or collapsing. The Boulders had lots of roller balls on south-facing slopes. South-facing slopes formed a crust in this area.

Snowpack

We dug three test pits as staff training and observed a thin layer of moist, basal facets at the ground at 8,000' on a NW-facing slope. All of our Extended Column Tests didn't produce any propagation on the 12/5 facets. A Propagation Saw test was 41/100 END on the targeted 12/5 layer. We had some ECTNs on a mid-storm interface (12/24?) down 30 cm.

I'm just estimating the occurrence date but need to get a closer look to really verify. I can make out at least three crowns when zoomed in. I can't tell how connected the crown is in the right two arrows.
