Quick report
Leeward slopes (primarily to the east and southeast) were heavily wind loaded. Sastrugi across much of the lower angle surfaces. Deeper pockets of powder slid out from under my feet while skinning uphill. Large rime feathers forming at higher elevations.
Avalanche
Wide crown observed along the southeastern flank of Illumination Rock. Observed from afar. Conditions last week at this elevation were an icy crust, and a large amount of fresh, cold snow has fallen in the last few days. The avalanche looked to be about 1, maybe 2 days old.
