While riding Hungalelti Ridge, we saw wind erosion patterns from E/NE winds, and found high density wind deposits that cracked when we tested steep features. None of these displaced downhill, but they were all small features with compressive support below them. We didn't expose ourselves to bigger features with wind slabs and/or unsupported ones. The cool winds prevented significant wetting of snow surfaces that were near and above treeline. Below treeline, even northerly aspects were warming and producing minor roller ball activity. Southerly aspects below treeline were wet at the surface. Between the steep terrain around Hungalelti Ridge, and the terrain observable on my return drive over Carson Pass and through Hope Valley, I did not see any recent avalanche activity.
