Quick report

Cracking
specific

The cross-loaded and leeward terrain features on Gothic with productive fetches held fresh wind slabs 2 to 3 feet thick.   Given the consequences in this terrain, I didn't attempt to get feedback from these large slabs.  I traveled on steep, southerly terrain where the snow was sheltered or eroded by recent winds without signs of instability.  I crossed one small crossdrifted terrain feature and popped a small wind slab about 8" thick.

I produced cracking across small test features in the recently drifted snow.

About 6" of settled storm snow below treeline, and about 12" above treeline in the most sheltered terrain I could find. Most of that snow was redistributed by westerly winds yesterday and last night.

A couple of new large persistent slabs on wind-loaded slopes of Peeler and Owen, and dozens of D1-D1.5 wind slabs on leeward terrain in the Ruby Range. I ski triggered a small wind slab.
