Quick report
Triggered a notable avalanche on a ski cut on Fish Creek Knob. Earlier stability tests produced ECTP 23 down 25 cm below yesterday’s storm snow. Very minimal cracking observed on tour, and no collapsing. We did note the surface snow stiffening on the lee aspects, which is where we chose to perform the ski cut. One section of the slab appeared to have stepped down to the 03/06 rain layer, but a crown profile was not performed to confirm this. Fish Creek Knob, size 2, storm slab, snowboarder slope cut. Width 100m, length 150m, avg crown depth 20cm, max depth 60cm.
