Quick report

Went out searching for snow today. Went to Virginia Lakes first thing in the morning, but winds were very strong, temps were low, and we decided to move south. There was clear evidence of wind transport coming off the ridge lines. Ended up skiing devils slide in June. Trail is fully melted out, though coverage in the line remains good. Snow was textured and had only minimally softened by 12:30-13:00. Totally edge able, but minimal ski and boot penetration. There was a pretty large bit of rockfall that happened while we transitioning and there’s a new 2.5-3’ boulder in the middle of the line now. At the upper reaches, there was evidence of some wind deposit, but it was shallow, irregularly distributed, and did not crack under foot.
