Quick report
Skied Pastoral NE face accessing via Taylor Pass. No signs of instability. Surface snow in sheltered areas was surface hoar and facets. Exposed areas had light wind affect with chalky snow or slightly breakable crust and wind slabs to 4 inches thick. The first few hundred feet down from top of pastoral also had sections of impenetrable crust. Dug a pit 4,400’ NE face of Pastoral. HS 2m. ECTX. Right side up snow, 4F to 1F one meter down, slight windcrust at 50cm down. Lots of glide activity. Last here two weeks ago and significant increase in slides and cracks since then.
