Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Several days of snowfall and southwest winds has introduced 30cm+ of new snow with a weak layer 26 cm down. The weak layer collapsed and propagated (spread across) the column on the 16th tap (medium force.) This could be indicative of a storm slab problem introduced by the recent snowfall. Caution should be exercised while travelling on any slopes over 30 degrees as this layer has shown the propensity to collapse and spread. Snowpack collapsing and "whumphing" was experienced at the pit location.

Snowpack

The top 111 cm of the snowpack includes 30+cm of new snow over the last several days. Today was clear, sunny, and warm and the snowpack is setting up. The total snow depth was 205 cm. The snowpack in the test put consisted of fist hardness snow (very soft) on the top and transitions to one finger (relatively firm,) towards the bottom.
