- Poor Snowpack Structure
Travel today was from Butler Fork, into upper Butler Basin, into Mill A, with a exit off or Circle Awl to the road.
Sporty conditions still exist in lower Butler fork.
No new signs of avalanches, with old crowns still visible from the last cycle.
Found plenty of good powder in sheltered locations, with supportable wind board in exposed locations that was still edgeable. The recent wind event helped pack snow in, and shape many gullies filling in some of the low spots.
Poor structure is still a concern, but seems dormant for now.
Still hoping for more snow.......
Snowpack
Mixed bag out there, but polar aspects still holding good powder.
