Quick report

Visibility was all over the map today from obscured and raining to brief blue holes. The freezing line was above ~2000'. The top 10-28 cm. is rain saturated moist melt forms. Down 28cm, we had compressive failure where water was pooling: CT5 and ECTX showing low propagation potential. The April 4-6 rain and above freezing overnight temps has weakened the upper layers of our Maritime snowpack. We decided to stay on the Benzene ridge for ascent and descent due to sloppy, sinky snow quality and because the wet loose activity off of the Peak was actively running.

Avalanche

Many natural wet loose releasing to size 2.5 off north aspect of Benzene Peak today. Many wet loose overnight on all aspects in steep and rocky terrain.
