This avalanche ran during the storm of Feb 7, when an additional 12" of snow was accompanied by strong SW winds. Other avalanches involving wind drifted snow and persistent weak layers were observed that day. Avalanche appears to have initiated in the Pencil Chute and then propagated wide on to an adjacent slope separated by trees and a small subridge. Visibility did not allow us to see how far it ran.
