* Weather: 30 degrees Fahrenheit, 5-10 mph wind from the west. Increasing cloud cover around 10:00. * Snow conditions: Crusty top layer, very wind stripped. * Red flags: Known persistent slab problem in the area, especially on N/NE aspects. Multiple recent avalanches spotted in the area. Wumphing above where we dug our pit. * Column test: Dug a pit on a western facing aspect on the eastern side of the bowl. CTM 18 @19 cm. CTH 28 @75 cm. * Extended column test: ECTP 28 @72 cm. * Hardness test: Weak layer around 75 cm and 63 ki cm.
Avalanche
Multiple recent avalanches spotted in the area. One on an eastern aspect on western side of the bowl. Unsure how it was triggered. The other was remotely triggered by a snowmobile and located east of Leavitt bowl closer to ski lake on a west facing aspect.
