Quick report

Was very cold this morning with an inversion present 11F at pickle meadow rising to 23F at wolf creek bridge before dropping down to 5F in the valley of Wolf Creek. At the top of cloud burst creek it was wind effected however coverage was good, especially for a S aspect. Skiing was bad, however in the trees down to Wolf Creek a 10-20cm layer of facets made for good turns. I dug a pit for demonstration with benign results. 3 ice layers were present in the shallow 85cm HS. They were non-reactive. Afternoon temps were around freezing in the shade and high 30’s in the sun. There was a light breeze from the north all day at the ridges at 9300 feet.
