My brother-in-law and I skied the middle part of the east bowl (where it was least-corniced) after discussing the avalanche conditions forecast, recent weather, and my experience with skiing this area. We decided to make a few hard cuts at the top to assess the stability. We saw no signs of cracking or collapsing, so we proceeded one at a time. On the ascent out of the bowl on the north ridge/face, I triggered a small avalanche (~20m wide, 30-50cm deep) that broke loose ~5-10m above me and moved slowly for ~10-20m before coming to a stop. We both stayed upright, and I only had one foot/ski get stuck. No one was buried or swept away (thankfully). We moved off into the trees, and traversed around to the west side to follow the skin track back down.
