Quick report
We dug a pit to the ground at ~8900' on the N aspect of Mt Downs (see pin). HS 135. 30cm of facets sat on the ground below a MF crust. Above that was a right-side up snowpack of 4F-to-fist snow. No wind or collapsing was observed on our tour.
