Quick report

Observed a couple of shallow D1 wet slab avalanches above the Bennetville area today at approx 10,500' on NE aspects. From afar, the slides appear to have run in the past couple days and may have been skier triggered. My suspicion is that the slab was comprised of the new snow we received about 2.5 weeks ago and that the bed surface is the old snow. The crowns were visible and this did not appear to be a point release (although one of the slabs appears to maybe have been triggered by a point release). My takeaway is to be aware in steep consequential terrain that may have been loaded during our last storm that could have this problem present. The size of the avalanches were not big, but could certainly take someone for an unpleasant ride. No other signs of instability were observed today on our tour to False White.
