We're still not sure about the location. Sounds like somewhere between Boss Canyon, Crescent Lake Area, and Steep Hollow. The uninjured rider was able to ride the slightly damaged sled out of the backcountry.

An avalanche caught, carried, and buried a snowmobile rider in the Franklin Basin Area on Friday, February 7. The avalanche was reported as on an upper elevation, southeast facing slope, and was estimated to be 3.5 feet deep and about 70 feet wide. A companion found and rescued the rider, who's head was buried about two feet deep with only a hand and a sliver of the deployed airbag sticking out of the avalanche debris. (we hope for more details and plan to visit the site this weekend)
