2 feet of storm snow! Too deep to ride low angle, too dangerous to ride steep terrain.
Collapses on most open slopes that we traveled on. Some collapses were soft and muffled (likely on the storm interface 60 cm deep), others were large and rumbled long distances (likely below the 11/16 crust 80 cm deep). Shooting cracks accompanied collapses on slopes around 25 to 30 degrees. No signs of instability while traveling under the canopy of pine trees.Weather

Light snowfall this morning, rates started to pick up as we were leaving this afternoon. Occasional down-valley gusts would cause brief periods of blowing snow below treeline.

Poor visibility, but spotted a couple of natural slabs about 2' thick on small terrain features below treeline, and we remotely triggered a slab from about 250 away.
