Quick report
Did some chill Hyak laps before skimo beer league. Found 3-6” fresh snow on a firm slush crust, skied pretty well up top but heavy down low. The reactivity of new snow was notable, although it was only ~4” was easy to set off slabs in these locations that rarely slide.
Avalanche
Triggered a few small avalanches on the only features that is really possible at Hyak - the steeps off power line tower off skiers left on eclipse, then the two convex rolls on east peak (chairline). Slabs broke ~4” deep and entrained some heavy sticky snow
