Tuesday 2/17 travelled from Norway yurt to the East Fork Falls zone and experienced frequent whumpfing on a variety of aspects and slope angles - avoided exposure to avalanche terrain. Snowpack felt quite unstable with the recent loading. Heard remote collapsing / avalanches during travels, especially in the morning. Handshears broke easily at the Feb 14 interface. Wednesday 2/18 travelled north along Grateful Ridge and then West to some inconsequential East facing terrain along the north boundary of Norway basin. Looking back from skintrack to the North and East across Blue creek, observed some widespread recent slab avalanches that had released in sparsely treed West-facing terrain between 7200-7600' elevation. From Grateful Ridge looking West observed several D2-looking slabs in Southeast, East and Northeast facing terrain. Thursday morning 2/19 observed family of goats traversing variety of high-consequence terrain along the east shoulder of Granite Mountain below 7000' without triggering any avalanches.
