Elephant's Hump

Incredibly windy afternoon at Elephant's Hump. It was often hard to keep my balance even in "sheltered" trees, and uncomfortable to linger in exposed areas. New snow was more dense than the old snow it was landing on, with informal tests showing this to be an unstable interface. Significant wind transport observed. Skiing was actually great, with fast, supportable conditions down low angle slopes.

Really difficult to determine how much new snow had fallen vs blown. Even in the trees, new snow amounts varied due to wind transport, but at least several inches of dense new snow had fallen by my departure at 4pm. It was noticeably more dense than the old snow it had fallen on.
