Coyote 02/24-02/25: 02/24: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Recent snowfall has settled, and below 8100' is dense, while above remained noticeably softer. Solars were trending towards wet, with pinwheels and roller balls coming down from sun-drenched rocks and tree bombs. Solars had a refreeze and harbored anywhere from a zipper to a breaker crust by sunset. Older generations of wind slabs and drifts showed no signs of instability on E and NE. Overnight: Winds were moderate for most of the evening, increasing through the night with strong gusts. Winds decreased by daybreak. Light snowfall began sometime late in the night laying down a trace of new snow, although it was hard to give an exact number with the winds transporting snow. 02/25: Winds did some work at the middle elevations, by morning, skin tracks and hut paths were filled in the previous night's drifting snow. 1-2' thick drifts formed along the road. 01/31 weak layers: No formal tests were performed, and just poking around with a pole on N and NE, 01/31 is ~100-125 cm deep. Along ridgelines, the slab above is stiffer, but weak layers were buried more deeply.
