Snowpack
In our travels, we found a generally stable snowpack. The persistent weak layer has continued to round and has a much less pronounced hardness step-off below the slab.
Near the surface, there have been 6-8 inches of snow since Saturday sitting on melt-freeze crust. There are multiple crusts in the top portion of the snowpack that can fully support the weight of a snowmobile.
We tried to push some sluffs and old cornice chunks to test the new snow in steep terrain off of Mt Henry and could only produce small dry loose avalanches that stopped quickly once slope angle decreased.
