Quick report
Warm day in the rattlesnake today. Above freezing to 8000’. North aspects getting heavy, but they’ll probably dry out overnight.
Solar aspects were wet and sticky.
Extensive wet loose avalanches in Evaro Bowl, which probably ran late yesterday. They triggered shallow D1 slabs, on buried crusts I suspect.
The south aspect where we dug at 7800' had surface crust from yesterday's sun, and an ice layer down 65cm (26"), Test results were ECTP 25, PSTend 55/100. Snow depth 180cm. Seems unlikely to trigger, but possible. The two feet of new snow above the crust was cohesive and contained no layers of concern.
North aspects are stable, with limited wet loose, even in steep terrain.
East was slightly sun affected and stable.
Danger was low, rising to moderate with sun warming.
Solar warming contributed to instability on south and west aspects.Weather
