Spotty stubborn buried weak layers at the new old interface about 2 feet down. South and west aspects showed good bonding to the old snow. The upper 6 inches of the storm finished light and dry with density changes, failing easily yet very soft-fist hard.
With my snowmobile I was able to trigger a 2-2 1/2 foot thick slab avalanche on the north facing road cut at 6651' on well preserved buried surface hoar near Brundage reservoir. Cracks shot out 10'.Weather

Snowpack
Rightside up snowpack. We had moderate propagation about 2 feet below the surface on near surface facets that formed during the month long dry spell. ECTP 10-12 in extended column tests on north aspect just below Upper Hazard Lake at 7232'on the new/old interface from 2/8 on near surface facets but no propagation on south test pit above the lake at 7600'. South aspect was damp below the new snow, had not completely refrozen.
