Quick report
I dug three different snow pits today. The biggest takeaway is the pervasive shallow and weak snowpack found throughout the entire zone. This current dry weather pattern is continuing to weaken the snowpack. When we do receive more snow, our snowpack will become very unstable. No instability noted while riding. We did notice old shooting cracks that must have propagated from the groomer several days again. This was on a heavily wind-loaded north aspect above Lloyd's Lake.

Overall, a really nice day in the mountains. Partly sunny becoming mostly cloudy with no wind around 7400'. Mild temperatures at upper elevations (upper 20s).
Snowpack
Shallow snowpack with poor structure remains the theme. Cold, clear weather is driving the faceting process in the current shallow snowpack. Surface hoar and near surface facets found on the surface of the snow, especially in shaded areas.
