Quick report
Rain was heavy from Seattle up to the West Summit exit, and turned to snow right at the exit. It was snowing hard with big wet flakes as we left Lot 4. Snow was heavy and wet from the parking lot. We saw significant remnants of recent tree bombs. We had a couple of tree bombs drop near us as we skinned up. When we reached the clearing just before the steep pitch and the waterfall, we paused to discuss our travel plan and overhead hazard. As we discussed the potential for a tree bomb setting off a slab above us we witness that exact event. That was enough for us to decide to turn around and ski back to the car.

As we stopped to discuss our travel plan through the steeper bits of the Snow Lake up track, we witness a natural avalanche triggered by a tree bomb.
