Pea Gravel Ridge

Recent wind loading and signs of istability became more prevealant above 6000 ft. Riding conditons also improved. Below this travel remains challenging and sometmes unsupportable, and punchy. Despite the recent accumaltions, there is still plenty of slick, scoured surfaces on windward slopes and ridglines in higher terrain. 

The snowpack is quite variable depening on elevation/aspect. In general though, any travel in thicker trees or old growth is pretty rough and not supper enjoyable.  Lower elevations are still lacking a supportable crust and boot pentrations are rather deep ( sunk past my knees) on open slopes maintaining some suspicion of wet avalanche concerns on steep, lower elevation slopes. However, somewhere between 5-6000 ft this crust became much more thick, supportable, and limiting any deeper layers of concern within the old wet snow. 

In this area west aspects were stripped and quite firm while east aspects held wind deposits ranging from 6-15 inches thick. These slabs were still reactive and running just above the 3/30 crust.
