Quick report
Mild temperatures (though cooler than the past few days), and windy conditions at Blue Lakes today. Broken AM skies allowed good visibility of surrounding peaks, and no wind transport was observed until 2-2:30pm when S1 graupel began falling and blowing across snow surfaces, obscuring surrounding peaks.
Surface snow was wet on all aspects, and wet well below the surface. Snow was variably supportable to snowmobile travel. On warm slopes, skis regularly penetrated down to an old crust. On "cold" slopes this still happened when making aggressive maneuvers. No free water was observed pooling above the crust yet, but it was close.
