Quick report

This morning I went up to point six for a few laps. It was mostly sunny skies and 12 degrees this morning headed up lavelle. Winds coming out of the north west. Skiing conditions where better below the ridge lines, especially on shaded slopes. Everything up on the ridgelines had a thick layer of rime on the surface. Dug a snow pit on an east facing slope at 6900ft. Snow depth was about 170cms in this area. Got CTP18 on a layer of graupel about 30cm down in the snowpack. I’m assuming this fell at the onset of last weekends storm. I was unable to cause any other collapses lower in the snowpack even with a lot of shearing force. Overall I observed good stability in the snowpack where I travelled today, no shooting cracks or collapses.
