Quick report
The objective was to reach the peak at the end of the non-name ridge on the north end of the basin near McCallum Creek. We took McCallum Creek in, the route is still relatively solid though it was collapsing in places on our way out after baking in the sun all day. We dug a pit at 5607 ft, the snow was approximately 230 cm deep, and we dug down to the 130 mark on our probe. We found a pretty solid 25 cm layer (1F to pencil hardness) at the top sitting on a well consolidated monolith layer with 4F-1F below that. Our CT failed at 24 at the base of the 25cm cap layer. For extended column we had failure at ECT22 with about 12 cm propagation also at the base of the 25 cm layer. Overall the snow felt pretty solid and we weren't planning on skiing any terrain traps so we felt good about the snowpack. At ~5800 ft we found that the slab had thinned to about 15 cm and the snow below was pretty sugary though at ~6000 ft the snow changed to wet clumping snow that felt solid. We made it to the summit poked around to find where the massive northern aspect cornice was and ripped back down to McCallum Creek we doubled poled like mad men and got back to the truck in just under an hour from summiting. Overall pretty sick day.
