It looked like a skier skinning up may have kicked this one off intentionally (on the north facing aspect in Silver Fork) in between our laps on south facing terrain. New storm snow was definitely the culprit. It was snowing ~4inches/hour at the time. Absolutely hammering down. It looked like it tried to step down but there just wasn't enough energy to make it happen. Maybe a human could make it happen but not the new storm snow. It ran to the trees below.
We noticed this natural slide on the Silver Fork Headwall around 10am. Looks like it failed in the new snow, probably not a cornice fall but hard to say. Didn't look particularly filled in (but filled in more throughout the day) so likely occurred overnight or earlier in the morning.
