Quick report

Toured up Little Elkhorn via Little Elk Creek. No new snow from 1/7’s storm below about 6k. There is a melt/freeze crust all the way up to about 9k, about half an inch thick. Generally unbreakable while skiing. We found progressively more snow as we got higher, about 8-10 towards the summit at 9200ft. It has been moved around a lot by the wind, most west faces are blown down to the crust. Some drifts on more north facing terrain are a few feet deep. New snow is soft and not very slabby despite the wind. We did not observe any cracking or recent avalanches except for a small cornice break on the east face. Flat light and a few inches of snow this morning made it difficult to see far though.
