see Snowpack summary. No avalanches or collapsing observed. Localized cracking w/in the storm snow as we approached ridge/shoulder at about 8400' with more new snow and some wind effect.
Snowpack
20-30 cm of new in sheltered areas below 8200', no cracking or collapsing. We began to see some cracking above 8200' as the new was a bit deeper and more wind effected. Snowfall rates of 2"/hour. Expect instability to rise with increased load and at higher elevations more effected by wind. Hand shears showed some failures w/in colder storm snow from a few days ago, some shears happening at the NSF interface.
