Snowpack obs Temple Basin Lots of wind at Temple basin over the last 72 hours. NW and S storm snow, lots of cross loading and scouring. Snow surface is varied, from a breakable rain crust over decomposing storm snow, to rime ice crust, to pockets of nice wind blown kiwi pow! Typical NZ snpk really! We did observe facet formation under a 1f 2-3cm thick raincrust at 1600 on a South aspect. This raincrust was widespread from 1400-1800m today and slides very easily on top of decompossing new snow and in places facets.
