- Recent Avalanches, Heavy Snowfall
Had some large slow moving skiffs while skinning up the steeper trees. One of them slid down and took out the skin track below (picture). Enough to knock a skier down but not enough to burry a person. Skiing down fairly large sluffs were breaking loose but everything was moving very slow.
I'm using the term sluff but it was almost a new snow slab. It was all breaking about 4" down and had flanks running down both sides but no cracking and was all breaking underfoot.
We also skinned over some debris from a slide that appeared to have happened overnight. Seems to have started at a cliff band skiers right of the main bowl and was covered by 6" or so of snow.
